Statistical Physics of Group Testing
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper provides a short introduction to the group testing problem, and reviews various aspects of its statistical physics formulation. Two main issues are discussed: the optimal design of pools used in a twostage testing experiment, like the one often used in medical or biological applications, and the inference problem of detecting defective items based on pool diagnosis. The paper is largely based on: M. Mézard and C. Toninelli, arXiv:0706.3104i, and M. Mézard and M. Tarzia Phys. Rev. E 76, 041124 (2007).

In many of the studies concerning Accelerated life testing (ALT), the log linear function between life and stress which is just a simple re-parameterization of the original parameter of the life distribution is used to obtain the estimates of original parameters but from the statistical point of view, it is preferable to work with the original parameters instead of developing inferences for the...

Introduction: Today, clinicians and neuroscientists need to have a comprehensive survey of neurological pathologies and injuries. For the First-time, SEEP contrast and Spin-Echo pulse sequences was used for functional imaging of the Lumbar spinal cord. This method used by several research groups for Spinal cord mapping, but other researchers tried to improve BOLD fMRI to Spina...

Introduction: GATE (Geant4 Application for Tomographic Emission) is a Monte Carlo simulation platform developed by the OpenGATE collaboration since 2001 and first publicly released in 2004. In Geant4, each physics process is described by a model (several models are sometimes available for a given physics process) and a corresponding cross-section table. All Geant4 physics model...
متن کاملTESTING STATISTICAL HYPOTHESES UNDER FUZZY DATA AND BASED ON A NEW SIGNED DISTANCE
This paper deals with the problem of testing statisticalhypotheses when the available data are fuzzy. In this approach, wefirst obtain a fuzzy test statistic based on fuzzy data, and then, based on a new signed distance between fuzzy numbers, we introducea new decision rule to accept/reject the hypothesis of interest. The proposed approach is investigated for two cases: the casewithout nuisance p...
